Growing up, I always felt different. Like the black sheep & lone wolf of my family & friend group.
Like everyone around me had something figured out that I didn’t.
I looked up to the adults in my life and the only example that I saw was work a job you hate for majority of your life until you can retire, or become an alcoholic.
Or both…
I had NO idea what I wanted to do. I just knew it wasn't that.
So I felt like I had to just get through life..
It wasn’t until I witnessed something different.
Someone who was also different, that had created a life they wanted.
Helping people…
Being an example…
LIVING
That something within me shifted.
“IF THEY CAN, I CAN TOO”
I became THE ONE.
The first to say “It ends with me”
The first to leave home, to travel, to start become an entrepreneur, to do the healing work, to break the chains.
For the first few years, my attempts to convince my family to join me were met with resistance and conflict.
I felt misunderstood, alone & even more different.
I was made fun of.
Asked if I was on drugs.
Told that it won’t work.
But that didn't stop me and I decided to take a different approach.
FAST FORWARD...
This weekend I was on the phone with my Mom
(who grew up on religion, a stressed out job she hated & who doubted me the most)
We celebrated her completing reiki certification, as she was telling me about her crystals & oracle cards & how she knows she is here to help people…
She told me it was because of me.
That I am her example.
But it wasn’t because I continued to try and convince her….
It was because I led with my light.
